1. The Consultation
Commissions are an opportunity for the artist and customer to work together to create something magical. Custom pieces allow you to tailor your vision into a reality rather than search endlessly for a painting that may not exist. It is my pleasure to assist you in choosing the size, palette, theme, style, and subject you seek. This may be as simple as showing me a photograph or requesting something similar to one of my previous works. The process begins with an initial conversation via phone, email, or in person if you are local. We discuss everything in detail to guarantee your custom painting is fully suited to you and your space.
2. Our Agreement
Following our initial conversation, I will send you a detailed invoice. I require a 50% deposit before beginning any custom design work. I will send photos during the painting process for your approval or should any changes be required. This is a collaborative process and I want you to love your one-of-a-kind original artwork. Once approved, I will send an invoice for the remaining balance and ship out your painting.
Large acrylic paintings are completed within 2 to 3 weeks. After the painting is dry, I glaze it for UV protection and preservation. The painting is then wired for hanging and packaged with archival paper and bubble wrap before being placed in a box and shipped via priority courier (I use Purolator or Canada Post with tracking numbers). Shipping fees are not included in the price of the painting and will be determined by the distance travelled. If you are within the Niagara area, I will deliver the painting free of charge.
